The fairways provide impressive habitat for wildlife with shallow marshes and protected by strands of oak trees. Egrets, herons and spoonbills explore the ponds under the watchful eyes of the resident hawks while songbirds sing from the nearby trees. Bobcats are frequently seen walking across the fairways in the mornings while the otters are coming out of the water to play in the sand.
The course is bordered by several miles of walking trails that provide an excellent wildlife viewing experience. In fact many of the residents of the nearby Salan RV resort frequent the trails in the early morning hours.
